Condo fire leaves 8 families without homes

Tampa, Florida -- An fire has destroyed a condominium building Wednesday morning leaving 8 families without homes. 

On May 22, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called to Manhattan Palms Condominium in Tampa to extinguish the fire. 

In addition to the apartment destruction that left 8 families displaced, TECO has also turned the power off in the adjacent buildings and 32 additional apartments have been affected by the evacuation and power loss.

Tampa, Florida, – Sea Monsters Revealed, the most comprehensive and interactive exhibition on the magic of the deep sea, will reveal another mystery of the ocean this Thursday, May 23, at 5 p.m., when a pregnant shark will arrive at MOSI.. 

Police search for missing, endangered woman

Tampa, Florida-- Tampa Police officers are asking for the public's assistance in finding 32-year-old Jamie Booker. 

They say she was last seen in the area of 98th Avenue and 22nd Street, and believe she may be in danger. 

If you have any information on her whereabouts, you're asked to call Tampa Police at 813-231-6130.

Police name 'foreign citizen' homicide victim

Tampa, Florida-- A homicide investigation launched Friday after a victim's body was found in the 4800 block of 30th St in Tampa. 

Preliminary reports at the time only said the victim was likely a citizen of another country, but an update from the Tampa Police Department on Monday identified him as 38-year-old Patrick A Richardson of Jamaica. 

No additional information has been released at this time. 

The investigation continues, and officials ask anyone with information on Richardson's murder to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.

Strong storms knock trees onto houses

Storms continue to push south across , Polk, Highlands, Hardee, Desoto and Sarasota counties.

There have been numerous reports of hail stemming from these storms, and 10 News has learned of trees falling on houses in Seffner and in Zephyrhills. There's no word on any injuries at this time.

Florida's Prehistoric Past

Tampa, Florida-- Learn about Florida's prehistoric past on Monday, May 20th, at the North Tampa Library.

Archaeologists from the Florida Public Archaeology Network at USF will bring real artifacts and replicas of tools ancient Floridians used to survive thousands of years ago.

The presentation will start at 6:00 p.m. and last for about an hour.
