Victim in hit and run crash dies, driver sought

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police say the woman hit by a car at E Lake Avenue and N 12th Street early Sunday morning has died from her injuries.

While on patrol, two Tampa Police officers say they spotted 60-year-old Patricia Louisy lying in the eastbound lane of East Lake Avenue aroudn 12:15 a.m. on June 9.  

The preliminary investigation indicated that Louisy was struck by a vehicle. She was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition where she later died.

MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater warns underage drinkers

Tampa, Florida-- Despite its multiple name changes, one of Tampa's main concert and event venues has a clear stance on at least one thing- a "zero tolerance" policy for underage drinking on the premises. 

The newly named MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater- first known as the "Ford Amphitheater" before becoming "1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheater", and then briefly the "Live Nation Amphitheater"- has joined forces with local law enforcement and the Florida State Fair Authority. Together, they are warning anyone underage that they will strictly enforce drinking laws. 

$2,500 reward offered for info on cat mutilation case

Tampa, Florida -- The Tampa Police Department has announced a $2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in a horrific cat mutilation case.

Police say the cat, named "Lion," was a domestic short-haired gray Tabby that was approximately five years old. Investigators say the animal was apparently shot or stabbed, before being cut in half and dumped in Tampa's Plymouth Park earlier in the week.

Tampa, Florida -- A man walking his dog in Plymouth Park Monday morning came across a horrific scene when he discovered the partial remains of his neighbor's cat.

Man says he built bombs as a "hobby"

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police investigators say 41-year-old James Minyard had no malicious intent, but the potential was there to cause some damage. 

Investigators say he described building bombs as a "hobby" -- one he started in January. One pipe bomb turned on Minyard Tuesday and blew off two of his fingers.

"Bank Bag Bandit" sentenced to 27 years in prison

Tampa, Florida -- A Palm Harbor man, also known as the "Bank Bag Bandit" who committed five armed bank robberies in three counties, was sentenced Monday to 27 years in federal prison in connection with the crimes.

As part of sentence, the United States Attorney's Office says David Dwindell was ordered to forfeit over $13,700, which is traceable to proceeds of the offense and to pay over $38,000 in restitution which is the amount stolen from the banks.

Suspect turns himself in for fatal Tampa food store shooting

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough Sheriff's detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for the man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Osh Williams outside the Snack Attack Food Store in Northeast Tampa Sunday.

Detectives say a witness told them 22-year-old Rodney Speights went to the store to confront and fight Williams as retribution for a fight Williams had been in the day before on March 23.
