Tampa, Florida -- Help make your neighborhood a little nicer by taking part in the Great American Cleanup.

On Saturday, April 27,  Make Tampa Bay Beautiful is hosting two cleanups in The Heights area.

One will be at the 22nd Street Park, which is 7801 N. 22nd Ave., Tampa, FL 33604. The other is at Lowery Park Boat Ramp which is located at 7525 North Blvd, Tampa, FL 33604.

Pre-registration is open and it's a good idea to sign up in advanced because the spaces are limited.

Hillsborough County, Florida-- During a regular board meeting set for Wednesday, April 17, county commissioners will declare April as "Water Conservation Month" in Hillsborough County.

According to reps, April- typically the driest month of the year- is an ideal time to pay close attention to leaky faucets, replace malfunctioning plumbing parts, consider lower shower heads and shorter shower-times, keep lawn-watering to a minimum, and more.

Tampa, Florida -- Earth day is this weekend and the Seminole Heights Community Gardens is celebrating with food, music and fun activities.

This Sunday, April 14, is the garden's second annual Earth Day celebration. It starts at 6:00 p.m.

There will also be displays, demonstrations, garden tours and a raffle.

The Seminole Heights Community Gardens is located at 605 East Frances Ave. That's three blocks of Columbus Dr. and two blocks east of Central Avenue.

Hillsborough to return to one-day-a-week lawn watering

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Hillsborough officials announced Wednesday that they'll be enforcing tighter water restrictions throughout the county as of March 13 because of below normal rainfall, reduced river levels and increasing water supply concerns.

All residents will be limited to watering their lawns once a week, and officials said this rule even applies to those who are not public utilities customers.

An exception will be made for reclaimed water customers, but they are also being urged to use as little as possible.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Park Services department has announced the launch of their new, free mobile application, which will serve as an interactive guide for users on the go at any of Florida's 171 parks, trails and historic sites.
